Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebobrie.com\/dancers-peter-katja\">Eric Bobrie<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Peter <g class=\"gr_ gr_4 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Style multiReplace\" id=\"4\" data-gr-id=\"4\">Loggins&nbsp; is<\/g> a dance historian and a musician as well as a dancer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peter has done hundreds of interviews the past 20 years, with the likes of ragtime dancers in NY, Charleston Champions of the 1920\u2019s to National Champions 30\u2019s through the 50\u2019s, including State Champions of Swing dance.&nbsp;Originally known for his research of early Jazz dance in California, and the owner of the Dean Collins\u2019s archive and collection, this brought on other donators and research that lead to other cities regional area\u2019s of the United states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spending many years helping with the Savoy Ballroom and Lindy Hop researcher and Historian Terry Monaghan. Allowed the possibility of working on projects with Frankie Manning both for the Heritage foundation, in London, as well as a national grant, for the University of Idaho, in Documenting Frankie\u2019s Choreography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent years the studies have been Nineteenth century origins of jazz, from a social approach based on Lawrence Gushee\u2019s research, with a focus on African American influenced vernacular dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His dance partner is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therevival.se\/?page_id=825\">Katja Zavr\u0161nik<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are proud to present Peter Loggins, a honorary member in Sweden Balboa Society, as a teacher for The Revival #11!
